Adeline “Addie” Hahn, 87, town of Easton, died Thursday Dec. 31 2009, while visiting her son and his family in Texas. Addie was born Feb. 25, 1922 in the town of Easton to Edward and Meta (Hafeman) Weber. She married Gerald Hahn July 5, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa. Gerald preceded her in death, Oct. 29, 2005. She lived with Gerald in a house they built together in the town of Easton her entire life. Together they enjoyed gardening, flower gardening, fishing, hunting and many other outdoor activities. She found special enjoyment in the many species of birds she watched and fed year around. Gerald and Addie also had a number of dogs they considered part of the family throughout their lifetime. Before her retirement she worked at Dixie Cream Donuts and Conner Lumber in Wausau. Addie was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church where she had many friends and carried out the Lord’s work in every aspect of her life. She was a shining example of how to live life to all who knew her; she always had positive attitude and a determined spirit.
Addie is survived by her son, Gary (Arleen) of Lantana, TX; grandson, Jeff of Savannah, TX; granddaughter, Michelle (Daryl) Anderson of Eagle, CO; and great-granddaughter, Madelynn Anderson. She is also survived by many loving caring nieces and nephews and their spouses. She was preceded in death by a sister, Viola Hahn and brother, Ralph Weber.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church in the town of Eason. Reverend Timothy Coppersmith will be officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at Helke Funeral Home in Wausau and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the church.
