Adeline Neumann

A life-long resident of the Town of Maine, Adeline was born August 1, 1925, the daughter of the late Wilbert and Helen (Fuhrman) Kufahl. On June 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Neumann, at Grace Lutheran Church. During the first decades of their marriage they were farmers, prior to selling the farm in 1965.

She was a homemaker, caring for the family and home. Lawrence and Adeline were well-liked in the community and enjoyed socializing, dancing, and playing sheepshead with their many friends.

At the age of 85, Adeline Marie Neumann went to her eternal home in heaven, on February 14, 2011, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She had been a resident of Mt. View Care Center since March 2010.

She is survived by her sons, Dean Neumann and Neal Neumann, both of Wausau; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sisters Elvira Kniess, Merrill and Marion (Bob) Koening, Bull Shoals, AR.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, in 1993; son, Wayne; brothers, Chuck and Bob; and sister, Dolores Woller.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 18, 2011, at Grace Lutheran Church – Town of Maine. The Reverend Nathaniel Biebert will officiate. Burial will follow at the Town of Berlin Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the Helke Funeral Home, Thursday February 17, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.; and again the day of the service, at the church, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
