Agnes Hardell took great pride in taking care of her family. Agnes and her husband Wilbert raised Ronald, Elaine, Phyllis, and Vern in their home on Kickbusch Street. While Wilbert worked hard earning a living, Agnes made sure to provide a warm home. She was a wonderful cook making sure to include her fresh vegetables from the garden. Agnes’s favorite past times included embroidery and making latch hook crafts.
At the age of 94, Agnes passed away at her home on Thursday, June 24, 2010.
She was born February 10, 1916 in the town of Hamburg to the late John and Sarah (Kriehn) Baneck. On October 26, 1935, Agnes married Wilbert at St. John’s Lutheran Church, town of Hamburg. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1984.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald, Vern (Dawn), two daughters, Elaine Hardell and Phyllis Peterson, one granddaughter, Lisa Ann Peterson all of Wausau, brother-in-law, Leo (Mary) Hardell of the town of Berlin and many nieces and nephews. Agnes was further preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Peterson, daughter-in-law, Florence Hardell, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Wausau. Reverend Phillip Schneider will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
