Agnes Weiss

Agnes Weiss, 89, of Wausau , went to reside with her heavenly father on Wednesday September 23, 2009 at Marywood Convalescent Center .





Agnes was born June 25, 1920 in Stevens Point to the late Frank and Katherine Kostuch. Her first husband Roland Vaughan died in WWII. She married LaVerne Weiss who also preceded her in death on September 21, 1984 . Agnes was a homemaker and worked for Arlen’s in Wausau and later Shopko. Agnes especially enjoyed her family and loved having large family gatherings, always making her delicious turkey and dressing and her famous chocolate cake. She loved decorating her home, was an excellent seamstress and especially enjoyed knitting and crocheting 42 afghans which were donated to St. Anne’s Church to go to local nursing homes.





Survivors include two sons; Rolyn (Patricia) Vaughan of Stevens Point and Raymond (Bonnie) Vaughan of Mauston, two daughters; Bonnie (Steve) Osswald and Betty Antell both of Wausau, one daughter-in-law Lucy Vaughan of Arizona, 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, two sisters; Marie Kippenhan of Stevens Point and Kathleen Dimka of Port Edwards, and one brother Edward “Bud” Kostuch of Arizona.





Besides her parents and two husbands, Agnes was preceded in death by two sons; Fred and Frank Vaughan, two brothers; Ray Stanke and George Stanke, and three sisters; Gertrude Sherman, Clara Pliska and Margaret Kostuch.





Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday September 26, 2009 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Wausau . The Father Steven Brice will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
