Aldeen R. Johnson loved her son, Mark and her grandsons, Drew and Kevin. It was always a special treat for the boys when Grandma took them to the Mint Café for dinner and ride the bus home. Aldeen enjoyed playing the organ, reading, and relaxing with her Diet Pepsi.
She was born June 25, 1926 in Milwaukee to the late Fred and Myrtle Ohm. After moving to Wausau, Aldeen was employed at North Central Technical College, Schmidt and Schmidt Attys., and Action Realty until her retirement. For many years, she volunteered in reelection campaigns for Dave Obey.
At the age of 84, Aldeen passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Schofield.
Survivors include her two grandsons, Drew of Streamwood, Ill., Kevin of Wausau, and daughter-in-law, Sue Johnson of Wausau.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mark on May 26, 2005 and her brother, Frederick.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Rev. Patrick Pierce will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
