Alice Kolpitcke, 87, of Wausau passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 surrounded by her family at Our House Senior Living while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born September 5, 1928 in Wausau to the late Adolph and Olga Dahlke. After graduating from Wausau High School, Alice began working for Employer's Mutual Insurance Co. On October 8, 1949 she married Ervin Kolpitcke at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. They raised two sons, Kirk and Kevin with Alice working as a seamstress for Rusty's Bridal Shop and later as a receptionist for Wausau Medical Center. Alice had a wide range of interests which included her memberships in the Wisconsin Valley Philatelic Society, Marathon County Genealogy Society and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a licensed HAM radio operator. Alice was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church where in her earlier years was involved in the Altar Guild, Bible study classes and church choir.
Survivors include her husband Ervin of Wausau, two sons, Kirk (Helen) of Rib Mountain, Kevin of Madison, her grandson, Michael of Rib Mountain and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Verna Radant.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau. Reverend Gary Schultz will officiate. Entombment will be in Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
