Alice Mae Luedtke, 85, of Wausau, passed away on November 2, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 29, 1933 in Wausau, daughter to the late Rudolph and Viola (Hase) Knapp. Alice married Charles Luedtke on September 25, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau.
Alice worked for the Wausau School District as an administrative assistant for over 25 years. In her free time, she enjoyed helping with her children’s activities at school and enjoyed spending time at the family cottage feeding the animals. She was an avid Brewer fan and loved to watch them play. Alice loved to cook and always hosted the family holiday dinners. She and Charles were members of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed Bible Study Group and playing cards with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; daughters, Cathy Hirn, Wausau, Sue (Todd) Hackbarth, Wausau, and Laurie (Dan) Lutkenhouse, Folsom, CA; grandchildren, Peter (Kelly) Hirn, Wausau, Carrie (Taylor) VanderSloot, West Olive, Michigan, and Kent Hackbarth, River Falls; great-grandchildren, Mason, Levi, and Wyatt Hirn, and Kane and Bensen VanderSloot. She is further survived by her brothers, Clifford and Chum Knapp and her sister-in-law, Lois Knapp.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harold Knapp.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave, Wausau. Pastor Zach J. Holdorf will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 am until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to Trinity on Stewart or the Wausau School District Foundation.
