Alice Sulzer

Alice was born August 29th 1922, the daughter of the late John and Valeria (Rice) Michalski, in Mosinee, WI. On April 26th 1941, she was united in marriage to Walter Sulzer, in Dubuque, IA. They shared 59 years of marriage, raising their family and making memories.

Meeting new people and making friends was something that came easily to Alice. She was active in various clubs at Colonial Manor, where she lived since 2005. Alice belonged to Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Wausau, and was a longtime member of the St. Catherine's Council.

Alice was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially at the family cabin in Hazelhurst. She enjoyed fishing and was talented at embroidery. Alice's family will miss the meaningful gifts that she had ready at every Christmas.

On Monday, June 10th 2013, Alice Eva Sulzer died at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 90 years old.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Clifford (Doris) Sulzer; three grandchildren, Michael (Connie) Sulzer and their son, Matthew, Tim (Schelie) Sulzer and their children, Derrik, Nicholas, Priyanne, and Alexander, and Kari Peterson and her sons, Carter and Evan; two sisters, Valeria (Ed) Schumacher and Irene Volhard; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, on June 5th 2000; infant son, Joseph; two brothers, Leo (Mary) Michalski and Charles (Carrie) Michalski; two sisters, Kay (William) Knoblock and Mary Griener; and brother-in-law, Alois Volhard.

A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of Alice's life will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 13th, at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Wausau. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Family will receive guests on Thursday, at church, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
