Alice A. Ziemann, 89, of Wausau, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015, at Mount View Care Center – Southshore. She was born, the youngest of three daughters, on January 26, 1926, in Wausau at the family home on Jefferson Street, to Willi and Clara (Brehmer) Ziemann. Alice graduated from Wausau Senior High School and was a life-long resident of Wausau. After high school she attended school in Milwaukee to earn her certification to become a beauty operator, which she put to good use working at the Charm Beauty Salon on Jackson Street with her sister, Ruth Zocher. After her time in the salon she worked as a cashier at Walgreens for 20 years, retiring in 1989.
Alice enjoyed times spent at the cottage near Tomahawk and taking excursions to Minocqua for shopping and dining with family. Time outside was also important to Alice and she spent many hours tending to her flowers, large garden, and mowing her yard. She enjoyed fishing, bowling on the Wausau City Bowling League, and maintaining her angel collection. Her dog, Kiawa, and niece's cats, Sonny, Kushy, and Ella, all provided great companionship.
She was baptized at St. Paul's United Church of Christ and was a life-long member there. She also held a lifetime membership to the Women of the Moose, Academy of Friendship and College of Regents.
Survivors include her nieces, Claire Lunt and Gail Rowell, both of Wausau.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willi and Clara; and two sisters, Dorothy (Donald) Lunt and Ruth (Marvin) Zocher.
