Allen A. Schroeder, 77, of the Township of Wausau, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston, after a 40 year battle with heart disease.
He was born in Milwaukee, WI., on June 12, 1935, to the late Irwin and Margaret (Hahn) Schroeder. Although born in Milwaukee, Allen was raised in the Wausau area, and attended Wausau schools where he graduated. He married Joanne Kell on December 8, 1955 in the Town of Wausau at Trinity Church, in December they would have celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Allen worked for the James River Corporation for 40 years as a Quality Inspector until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed working in his woods trimming trees, making fire wood, and taking walks. He also enjoyed making trails out in his woods for cross country skiing, and tinkering with his tractor.
Allen will be sadly missed by his wife; two sons, Eugene (Bev) Schroeder, Linolakes, MN., Duane Schroeder, Wausau; three daughters, Terri (Jim) Radke, Mosinee, Debbi Weaver (Dave Zahrt), Wausau, Sandy (David) Stolze, Wausau; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandson; one sister, Margaret MacMillan, and one brother, Richard (Linda) Schroeder.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 13, 2012, at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. The Reverend Ted Gulhaugen will officiate. A private family burial will take place at a later date. You may sign our family guestbook at www. Helke.com.
