Alyce M. Grabau, 91 of Wausau passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the North Central Health Care Center.
She was born May 22, 1923 in Wausau, WI daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Mohr) Ganterer. She received her education in Wausau and in 1943 she was united in marriage to Edward Grabau at St. Stephens United Church of Christ. Following the death of her husband in 1950 Alyce remained in Wausau where she worked and raised her two children.
She was employed at Kresge's, Ben Franklin and also was a school crossing guard.
You could always find Alyce lending a helping hand at the Salvation Army or staying active in the Grace United Church of Christ. She also enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music whenever possible.
Alyce was preceded in death by her husband and one step brother Jim.
She is survived by two children, Kay (James) Babcock and Terry (June) Grabau both of Wausau, three grandchildren, Brandi, Scott and Kimberly, and six great grandchildren, Kate, Garrett, Madux, Kasey, Kloe and Kami.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:30pm Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Grace United Church of Christ, 535 South 3rd Ave Wausau with Pastor Julie Goranson officating. Visitation will be held from 1:30pm until service time at the church.
