Andy Rajchel, 25, formerly of Merrill, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at his home in Minneapolis, MN.
Andy Rajchel was born on June 6, 1982, in Black River Falls to parents Jack and Christine (Gagnon) Rajchel. Throughout his life, Andy was an avid golfer and outdoorsman, two loves passed onto him by his father. More notably, Andy had a heart of compassion and service. He cared deeply for his family - especially his nieces and nephew - and looked forward to his time with them. Andy also supported Teen Challenge of Minnesota, a measure of his nurturing spirit. Though at times he could be mischievous, Andy was quite simply a big kid - remembered first as a good son, a loving brother and uncle, and a dear friend to all who knew him.
Andy is survived by his loving parents, Jack and Christine (Gagnon) Rajchel of Merrill; brother, Joe Rajchel (Jennifer Ruhrer) of Milwaukee; sisters, Rachel (Raj) Khedia of Tucson, AZ and Stephanie (Austin) Olson of Des Moines, IA; three nieces and a nephew, Lauren, Olivia, Jack,and Lola Carli-Jo; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Gagnon; and many more extended family and friends. Andy's paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather, Henry Gagnon, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Highland Community Church, Wausau. Pastor Jeff Hinds will be officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Burial will follow the funeral service in Merrill Memorial Park, Merrill.
