Anita Fisher

Anita was born on October 28th 1930, the daughter of the late James and Edna (Schrader) Hatfield, in Faribault, MN. After high school, Anita attended Valparaiso University, in Indiana, where she received her bachelor's degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse for 24 years; her last 15 years were spent working as a public health nurse, for Ashland County. On April 20th 1957, she was united in marriage to David W. Fisher in Giese, MN. Throughout their life together they were blessed with two sons and countless memories. They raised their family in Ashland, WI, where they were members of Zion Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for many years.

Anita's faith and strong conviction in God was at the center of all she did. Attending church at Christ Lutheran was very important; there she enjoyed quilting and volunteering her time. She also spent many hours volunteering at Bethesda and was an avid bowler, participating in league for many years. Anita had countless interests, including nature, gardening, quilting, swimming, and traveling.

On Monday, December 17th 2012, Anita Carol Fisher died under the care of AseraCare Hospice, at her son's home in Plover, surrounded by her beloved family. She was 82 years old.

Anita will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Russell (Sylvia) Fisher, Aurora, CO and Tim (Lori) Fisher, Plover; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Edwin Hatfield, Rogers, MN; and sister, Margaret Fleming, St. Peter, MN.

Along with her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her husband, David, in 2004; and three brothers, Lawrence, Donald and Harlan.

A funeral service will be held at Noon, Friday, December 21st, at Christ Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend David Wetmore will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Family will receive guests on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the service, at church. Memorial donations may be made to Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School.
