Anna Breunig

Anna Mary Breunig, 94, of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born to Adelore and Victoria (Chagnou) Dault on May 5, 1919, in Rhinelander. Anna married Raymond Breunig on June 4, 1936, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wausau.
Anna and Raymond ran the family farm together for many years. Anna helped with work on the farm and helped take care of her family. She always enjoyed getting away to the cottage up north where she could relax and catch up on reading. This was time that she cherished because it was a time that she could be with her children and grandchildren. Many summer weekends were spent with family and the neighbors playing cards and being together.
In addition to working on the farm, Anna drove children on the school bus and later as a CNA at Colonial Manor in Wausau.
Anna is survived by her children, Delores Bonkoski of Wausau, Irene Schepp of Merrill, Barbara (John) Renken of Merrill, Maynard (Bonnie) Breunig of Wausau, and David (Maria) Breunig of Merrill; 27 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents; son, Robert; and sons-in-law, Marvin Bonkoski and Wayne Schepp.
A funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013, at St. Michael Parish, 611 Stark St., Wausau, with Rev. William Grevatch officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 30 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas.
