Antoinette B. Nakhla, 83, died October 14, 2011, with her family by her side at her son's home in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Antoinette was born on December 1st, 1927, in Aleppo, Syria to Benjamin and Djamile (Nehme) Bahi.
She lived in Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Brazil before moving to New Jersey in 1979 and then to Wisconsin in 1989. She was married to Saber Beshay Nakhla, who preceded her in death in 1987.

She was an active member of Bible Truth Chapel in Wausau, Wisconsin. Her faith was of utmost importance and she had a deep appreciation for Biblical teaching and Christian worship and fellowship.

Antoinette loved to cook from a collection of gourmet recipes she gathered during her travels over the years. She believed the best way to enjoy great food was by sharing it with new and old friends. Her home was the center of many gatherings for over five decades. Other interests included knitting, crocheting and making exotic jams. Antoinette was fluent in Arabic, French, Portuguese and English.

Antoinette is survived by her siblings in Brazil, Harriete (Bahi) Haddad, Antoine Bahi, Lydia (Bahi) Murucci; her three sons and their spouses, Alfred and Maria (Salewski) Nakhla, Tony and LuAnn (Melcher) Nakhla, Edward and Brenda (Niemeyer) Nakhla; nine grandchildren, Kristen (Nakhla) Warwick, Andrew, Philip, Monica, Elizabeth, Daniel, Andrea, Amy and Jennifer Nakhla; and one great-grandchild, Gabriel Warwick.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Bible Truth Chapel, 1600 N. First Ave., Wausau, with the Rev. Eric Shelley officiating.
