Arlene Goetsch

October 4, 1943 — March 12, 2009

Arlene Goetsch, 65, Wausau, died Thursday March 12, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.


Arlene was born October 4, 1943 in Wausau to Evelyn (Pecha) and the late Walter Schreiber. She grew up in the Wausau area, graduating from Wausau High School. Arlene married the love of her life, William Lee Goetsch, June 9, 1962 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The couple was blessed with two children; Alan and Connie. William died January 18, 2002 after 39 wonderful years with Arlene.


Arlene was a very good mother to her children and enjoyed being a grandmother to her grandsons. She worked for 7 UP and later Pepsi in their telephone sales department for many years developing long lasting friendships with coworkers and clients. In her free time, Arlene enjoyed reading, growing flowers, and watching HGTV. Arlene was a lifelong member and faithful supporter of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.


Arlene is survived by her children, Alan Goetsch of Wausau and Connie (Kevin) Koppa of Hatley; and grandsons, Kyle and Cody. She is also survived by her mother, Evelyn Schreiber of Wausau; brother, Walter “Pee Wee” Schreiber of Wausau; and many dear friends will mourn her passing.


Funeral services will be 5:30 PM Monday, March 16, 2009 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend Robert Edwards will be officiating. Visitation will be at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church beginning at 1:30 PM and lasting until the service at 5:30 PM. Burial will be at a later time in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
