Arlene Hawley

Arlene Hawley, 83, of Wausau, died Thursday June 18, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.





Arlene was born February 2, 1926 in Park Falls, Wi., to the late Leonard and Karen (Knutson) Stein Sr. She married John “Jack” M. Hawley on October 5, 1946. Jack preceded her in death on June 9, 1994. Arlene worked for Wausau Insurance for many years before retiring while her husband owned and operated Jack’s Barber Shop. She was a longtime member of the Church of St. Anne. Arlene enjoyed spending time at her lake cabin and going to the casinos. She especially enjoyed all the good times she had with her grandchildren.





Survivors include four daughters; Jacquelyn Hawley of Wausau, Judith Hawley of Edina, Minn., Nancy (David Goetz) Hawley and Elizabeth (Christopher) Hawley both of St. Paul, Minn., four grandchildren; Andrew Fink, Emersyn Goetz, Jack Hawley and Erin Hawley, four sisters; Dorothy Peters, Betty (John) Murnik, Mary (Rudy) Szymik, and Mickey (Jack) Hoppe, one brother; Leonard “Manny” (Roz) Stein Jr. and many nephews and nieces.





Arlene was preceded in death by one son Michael, one grandson Dylan, one sister Laura “Tudi” Gunderson and one brother Robert Stein.





Funeral services will be at Noon on Monday June 22, 2009 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Officiating will be Father Steven Brice. Private family burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted the family with arrangements.
