Arletta Emma Thompson, 82, of Rib Mountain, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday January 28, 2010 at her home, under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, with her family by her side.
Arletta was born September 10, 1927 in Wausau to the late Edwin and Gertrude (Reissmann) Kohnhorst. She worked at Marathon Electric for over 25 years before retiring. Arletta was a life long member of Christian Assembly Church in Wausau. The oven was always warm at her house from making banana bread or more than enough pies for family get togethers all while watching her favorite game show the Price is Right. Besides baking, Arletta enjoyed making blankets, watching her grand and great grandchildren, and playing a mean game of Uno.
Survivors include 3 daughters; Sharon (William) Yach of Rib Mountain, Debra Purdy of Denver, Colo., and Susan (Lee Simon) Thompson of Mosinee, 7 grandchildren; Tracy Osborn, Tammy (Mike) Waraksa, Terri (Shawn) Yeager, Shane Marks, Marshall Marks, Ashley (Edwin) Bonayon and Kasey Simon, 4 great grandchildren; Aleigha Osborn, Ashlyn Osborn, Carter Bonayon and Melina Waraksa, and 2 brothers; Kurt (Faye) Kohnhorst of Sonoma, Calif. and Ralph (Clarice ) Kohnhorst of Wausau.
Arletta was preceded in death by one brother Robert Kohnhorst.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday February 2, 2010 at the Christian Assembly-Assemblies of God Church, Wausau. Officiating will be Dennis Romine, Pastor. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
