Arno A. Radtke, 85, of the town of Stettin, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born to the late Fred and Lillian (Berndt) Radtke on May 5, 1926 in Wausau. Arno was married to the former Jennie Buttke for 61 years. He worked for the Marathon Corporation/American Can/James River Corporation for 42 years starting as a machine operator and retired as maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Arno served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of the VFW Burns Post #388.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie; children, Connie (Gary) Ruplinger, Clark Radtke (Lisa Jensen), and Carla (Dennis) Elliott; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn (Ralph) Imm. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alvin Radtke; and sister, Doris Grant.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, October 7, 2011 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 426 Washington St., Wausau, with the Rev. Philip Schneider officiating. Friends and family may call beginning at 10:00 am until the time of service at the church.
