Arnold Thiele

Arnold (Arnie) was born the son of the late William and Nelda (Krueger) Thiele, on April 22, 1920, in Wausau, WI. He attended Mosinee Hill School and was employed at American Can Company for 32 years. On April 25, 1942, he was united in marriage to Alice Dahm and they enjoyed life together for 62 years, before her death in 2009. As charter members of Rib Mountain Lutheran Church, Arnold and Alice participated in church activities; and Arnold took pride in serving his church as an elder. Arnold enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and fishing. He was skilled at woodworking and crafted many beautiful items for others such as picture frames, doll houses and plant stands. To Arnold, spending time with his family was most important. He was actively involved with his daughter and his grandchildren taking them sledding, ice skating, and bike riding. He was always the first to offer a "helping hand" to family, friend or neighbor when the need arose.

At the age of 91, Arnold William Thiele, Wausau, formerly of Rib Mountain, died July 29, 2011, at Garden Crossing-North Central Health Care, with his daughter by his side.

Arnold's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, including his daughter, Bonnie Zoromski; 2 grandchildren, Michelle (Don) Boehm and Juelle (Bobby) Whippler; 3 great-grandchildren, Cameron and Haylie Wiroll, and Noah Whippler; 2 step-great grandchildren, Dani and Charli Boehm; great-great grandchild, Kylor; step-great-great grandchild, Eli; and two nieces and one nephew.

Arnold was preceded in death by his younger sister, Irene Boruch and brother-in-law, Frank Boruch.

A service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Rib Mountain Lutheran Church. The Reverend Thomas Hoelter will officiate. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:30 a.m. the day of the service at church.
