Barbara Rajek

Barbara Jean Rajek, 75, Wausau, died Monday, January 28, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Barbara was born March 23, 1943 in Wausau to the late Clarence and Mildred (Poeske) Schubring.  She is a graduate of Wausau High School.  Barbara married Rudolph Rajek on May 25, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Wausau.  The couple was blessed with two sons: Charles and Wayne.  Over the years, Barbara worked for Marathon Box while helping care for a barn full of calves on the family farm.  After 44 loving years together, Rudolph died on December 10, 2007.

Barbara was a very simple, down to earth woman with a very large heart.  Her home was always open to family and friends with a warm meal individually prepared for each visitor.  She enjoyed nothing more than spending time visiting with family and friends whenever she could.  Barbara was especially close to her mother and mother-in-law.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Charles (Tracie) and Wayne (Karen); grandchildren, Allan, Jerrud (Heather Seubert), Cory (Brittney Erler), Landyn (Allison Leitzke), Ethan and Jake; great-granddaughter, Emma; siblings, Karen Wagner and Glenn (Lou Ann) Schubring, and extended family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jerry Wagner.

The memorial service for Barbara will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church (630 Adams Street, Wausau).  Rev. Dr. Niveen Sarras will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Saturday.  Inurnment will be at Mechanics Ridge Cemetery at a later date.  Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements; you may sign our family guestbook at helke.com.
