Bernice Baumann

Bernice "Boots" A. Baumann, age 89 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Bernice was born in the city of Wausau on March 22, 1927 to August and Anna Kranz. She was united in marriage to Eugene Baumann on March 23, 1946.

Bernice enjoyed life! She was a devoted wife and mother; loved the sun; friend to a number of students as an aide at Wausau High School; a Gray Lady; loved to camp; attend athletic events; play cards; cook; feed her birds; and staying up for hours watching CNN, or a number of news stations. She was always up on her current events and politics! She was "witty" until the very end, never forgetting anything!

Bernice is survived by her children: Son, Gary Baumann (Jodi Westcott), Kohler; Son, Douglas (Sharon) Baumann, Wausau; and a Daughter, Roxane (Jim) Jensen, Longmont, Colorado; grandchildren: Ryan Allen, Seattle, Washington; Justin Baumann, San Diego, California; Jessica (Chase) Countryman, San Diego, California; Kristie (Christopher) Winter, Merrill; Bradley (Barbara) Baumann, Wausau; Jack Jensen, Burlingame, California; Trisha (Jason) Bond, Longmont, Colorado; and Shane Baumann, Elkhorn; great - grandchildren: Tanner, Cassie, Logan, Amber, Matthew, Emily, Shayla, Carson and soon to arrive Chloe; sister: Marjorie (Charles) Shantz, Wauwatosa; and extended family and friends.

Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her brother, Wilbur Kranz, Wausau, Wisconsin; and daughter-in-law, Sarah Allen, Seattle, Washington.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau, Wisconsin, with the burial immediately after the service at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church starting at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, is assisting the family with arrangements.
