Bernice R. Imhoff, 90, of Weston, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was born to the late Henry and Anna (Huber) Hannemann on March 31, 1921 in the Town of Cassel, Wisconsin. Bernice grew up outside of Edgar on the family farm and attended local schools. On June 25, 1940 Bernice married Louis at St. John the Baptist Church in Edgar. She farmed with her husband, Louis, in the Town of Emmett, lived in Edgar, and later moved to Wausau. Bernice enjoyed her family very much, and they played Bingo, Checkers, and Sheepshead together. She liked getting her hair and nails done whenever possible. She also spent her free time sewing, baking and traveling.
She is survived by her children, Jerry (Charlene) of Edgar, Gene (Bernie) of North Zulch, Texas, and Don (Chris) of Edgar; six grandchildren, Sheryl (Scott) Cleveland, Tina (Ben) Szemborski, Paul Imhoff, Sarah (Gavin) Jones, Kyle Imhoff, and Trevor Imhoff; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Arlene Sutter of Milwaukee, Irene Zautcke of West Bend, Eileen Lang of Madison, and Marie (Fred) Kucera of Twin Falls, Idaho.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Louis, son David, and sister, Lucille Hannemann.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Church of St. Anne, 700 West Bridge St., Wausau, with the Rev. Steven Brice officiating. Friends and family may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church until the time of service. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Edgar.
