Bette Green

Bette Lou Green, 88, died Friday, September 20, 2013 at Colonial Manor while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Bette was born October 13, 1924 at the family farmstead near Shawano, WI. She was the daughter of Charles Louis Ziemer and Juanita Maude Ziemer Ross. She married Wallace R. Green on April 9, 1943 in El Paso, TX. In 1948 they moved to Wausau where they remained life-long residents. Wallace preceded her in death in July of 2005. Bette did work at Kimberly-Clark in the Fox River valley for a number of years prior to moving to Wausau and seasonally at Sears in Wausau for a few years, but in fact her life's work was family and faith.

Survivors include a daughter and two sons: Susan (Craig) Carlson, Athens, WI; Todd (Heidi) Green, Wausau, WI; and Ned Green, Wausau, WI. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Seth, Emmy, Camille, Dylan, Hannah, Flynn, Olivia, Willa, and Gabriel and 3 great-grandchildren: Piper, Calder, and Sylvee. A sister, Beverly (James) Sazama, Cape Coral, FL; and 2 cousins, Delores Ziarnik and Georgia Page also survive.

Visitation and services will be held Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Rib Mt. Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3900 Hummingbird Rd., Wausau. Visitation begins at 2:30 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. There will be a dinner for family and friends at Willow Springs Garden at 6:00 p.m. Helke Funeral Home, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
