Betty Jane Lemke, Colby, formerly of Wausau, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the age of 90.
Betty in her child-like innocence enjoyed singing, dancing and coloring. Betty was born May 15, 1923 in Wausau, the daughter of Otto and Emma (Hayes) Lemke. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Arlene Lemke, Mary Lemke, Florence Lambrecht, Dorothy Straub and Ruth Tremel; her brothers, Lawrence Lemke, William Lemke and Marvin Lemke. Betty is survived by one sister, Irene Bluhm and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Tracy and the staff of the COHO Group Home in Colby for the special loving care they gave Betty for the past 11 years, the staff of Marshfield Clinic Palliative Care and all of her previous caregivers.
