Blake Evans Heidemann, 72, Wausau, died early Friday, April 24, 2015 at his home in Wausau.
Blake was born September 15, 1942 in Wausau to the late Vernon and Dorothy (Frahm) Heidemann. He is a graduate of Wausau High School. Blake proudly served his country in the US Air Force. On March 30, 1963, Blake married the love of his life, Gayle Eckhoff, in Norton, Kansas. The couple raised two daughters, Michele and Mary. Blake supported his family by working as a metal fabricator for Greenheck.
Blake was a resolute man and good father and grandfather who could always be counted on to help when needed. He loved working with his hands as much as he could either in the yard or in his garage tinkering on the cars he collected. Free time often found Blake watching NASCAR or cheering on the Packers.
Blake is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Gayle; daughters, Michele (Keith) Myszka and Mary (Greg) Koval; grandchildren, Joshua Brenden, Marissa, Alora and Teah Koval; great-grandchildren, Kyla and Brianna Brenden and Logan and Bennett Koval; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Gary, Keith and David.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
