Carmello E. (Eugenio Emilio) Richetto was born February 19, 1941 in Wausau to the late Margaret E. Richetto Stavrakis. He graduated from Wausau Senior High School. Due to his mother's employment in Milwaukee, Carmello spent his early years with his grandmother, Alice Hewitt Richetto, whom he affectionately called "Ma".
He attended Stout University and graduated with a degree in the Culinary Arts. His professional career began in Milwaukee as a Dietary/Chef Manager. During the next four decades, Carmello managed food planning and food preparation for several organizations. He also compiled a dietary guide/cookbook.
Gourmet Chef Carmello happily shared his culinary knowledge, skills, and recipes with many. His generous hospitality with festive meals was enjoyed and remembered by relative and friends! Over the years, he often prepared meals for the churches he attended.
Carmello also enjoyed music, often playing the piano and singing old hymns of the faith.
During the last decade of his life, he was afflicted with various medical ailments. The last two years were spent at Care Partners in Weston. In spite of his maladies, numerous hospitalizations and rehabilitation treatments, Carmello chose not to complain but rather to be happily thankful to God for the years of good memories.
Carmello suddenly passed into the Lord's Presence on Sunday, November 16th. He is survived by his step-father, Peter Stavrakis; his uncle, Audeen (Jeanette) Richetto; his aunt, Charlotte Richetto; half-brothers and sisters, cousins and extended family and friends. He was endearingly known to many as "Mello"!

Carmello's relatives greatly appreciate the genuine care and friendship provided by the health care givers and residents of Care Partners – they were his "family" for the last two years. Heartfelt gratitude is also extended to David Cha and Margaret Higginbotham, Community Care Connections of Wisconsin, for their personal attentive care and concern shown to Carmello.
