Carol Wojan

June 1, 1931 — October 13, 2012

Carol Mae Wojan, age 81, died peacefully in hospice care at Hospice House in Wausau surrounded by members of her family on October 10, 2012. Carol was born in Green Bay, WI to Roy E. LaBelle and Clara M. (Wagner) LaBelle on June 1, 1931. She grew up in White Lake, WI and graduated valedictorian from White Lake High School in 1949. She went on to obtain her nursing degree from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Milwaukee, WI. Carol worked as a Registered Nurse in hospitals and clinics in Wausau and Antigo for over 35 years

Carol married Delmer H. Wojan on July 17, 1954 and they were blessed with four children. She enjoyed travel, reading and book clubs, volunteer work in local nursing homes, attending various Elderhostels, watching the football teams of the Packers, Hawkeyes, Wildcats, Warriors, Lumberjacks and her soap operas on television, . She was a benefactor to many foundations involving children, notably as a James E. West Fellow in the Samoset Council, Boy Scouts of America. She especially enjoyed local productions of musical theater and supported the dramatic arts in the Wausau area and Northern Wisconsin with her close friends Pat Carey and Pat Krueger.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Delmer, son Mark A. Wojan of Wausau, sister-in-law Beverly LaBelle, nephews Matthew and Michael LaBelle and niece Kathryn LaBelle. She is survived by daughter Debra (David) Krause, sons Steven (Maggie) and Curtis (Kathy) Wojan, daughter-in-law Shelley (nee Plaza) Wojan, brothers H.R. Larry LaBelle and James A. (Kay) LaBelle, and sister-in-laws Delores Wojan, her husband's twin, of Antigo, Elenore Wojan and Imogene Hicks. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Paul and Jonathan Krause, Nathan and Christopher Wojan, Brian and Jenna Wojan, James and Erin Wojan and niece Andrea (Michael) Reynolds

She will be deeply missed by all she touched.

A mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012, at St. Matthew's Parish, Wausau. Father Robert Thorn will officiate. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, at the church. She will be entombed alongside her husband in The Garden of Eternal Rest at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
