Caroline E. Kuehl

Caroline E. Kuehl, 91, of Wausau, passed away peacefully at Rennes Health & Rehab on September 5, 2024 with her loving daughter at her side.

She, Myrtle and Arline were born as triplets on February 2, 1933, at home in the Town of Texas, to parents Arthur and Elsie (Steffen) Traska. Carrie was a homemaker, but also worked at Marathon Battery and Lakeland Sales Tupperware Warehouse. She especially enjoyed dancing waltzes and polkas. She enjoyed country music, attending concerts and festivals, and working on word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Caroline married Stuart Kuehl on June 5, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Wausau. Together, they had one daughter.

Caroline is survived by her daughter, Kathleen "Kathy" Kuehl; sister-in-law, Helen Traska; sister-in-law, Grace Luetschwager; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Stuart Kuehl; parents, Arthur and Elsie Traska; siblings, Louis (Mildred) Traska, Lorrinda (Russell) Boelter, Katherine (Marvin) Zahrt, Arnold (Brigetta) Traska, Raymond (Doris) Traska, Florence (Frank) Wirsbinski, Elroy (Adeline) Traska, Adeline (Norman) Prahl, David (Marian) Traska, Myrtle (Delos) Beck, Arline (Arvo) Salo, Clarence Traska, and Dale Traska; in-laws, Julius and Helen Kuehl; cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Rev. Karoline Schwantes of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church will officiate. Following the service, Carrie will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Our family wishes to thank the staff at Rennes Health and Rehab and Interim Hospice Care for their excellent care of Carrie for the last month.
