Caroline M. Cardoni was born June 14, 1922 in Virginia, MN to the late Alex and Emma (Langren) Cardoni. She grew up on the Iron Range and graduated from high school in Virginia, then going on to University of Minnesota, Duluth for her education degree. Upon graduation she moved to Marshfield and taught for a year before moving to Wausau to teach. In 1946, Stanley Seefeld bumped into Caroline at a fire north of town and the two shortly began courting. The happy couple was married August 3, 1947. Though having no children of her own, Caroline acted as a second mother to her nieces and nephews and took great delight in having them visit every chance they could get. After nearly 40 years of working with the physically and developmentally disabled in the Wausau School District, Caroline retired in 1987. Caroline Seefeld, 87, Wausau, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
