Cathy L Corbin

Cathy L. Corbin, age 73, of Wausau, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 19, 2022.

Cathy was born on April 19, 1949 in Wausau to the late Cyrus and Sherry (Kiesner) Hussong. On October 14, 1972, she married the love of her life, Jeffrey Corbin, in Wausau, he preceded her in death in 2017 after 45 years of marriage.

Cathy was a teacher’s aide in the Wausau School District until Jeff’s job relocated them to Kansas City, Missouri in 2000. She continued her work as a teacher’s aide in Missouri until her retirement in 2010 when she and Jeff moved back to Wausau. Cathy was an avid reader and enjoyed Hallmark movies. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.

Cathy is survived by her sons Chris Corbin (Terrie Chittum), Mosinee, Ben (Sarah) Corbin, Neenah and Robert Corbin, Wausau; granddaughters Hannah and Ava Corbin both of Neenah; step-grandsons, Scotty (Kacee) Chittum, Kronenwetter, and Jacob (Melissa) Chittum, Kronenwetter, step-grandchildren Kashton and Maddox Chittum, Kronenwetter, Wesley and Hazel Chittum, Kronenwetter. Siblings: Debra (Ben) Casias, Montrose, CO, Kim (Gina) Hussong, Montrose, CO, brother-in-law Timothy Corbin, Eau Claire, sister-in-law Brenda Corbin, Eveleth, MN, sister-in-law Wendy (David) Kijek, Sun Prairie, and Nancy Corbin (John Pascutti), Muskego; Uncle Ron Goetzke, Hoschton, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jeff, and mother and father-in-law Hannah and Duane Corbin.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St. Wausau, on Saturday, June 3 with visitation from 1pm-2pm and a service to follow.
