Charles "Charlie" Bremer, 58, Merrill, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at his home.
Charlie was born September 30, 1952 to Robert and Gertrude (Obermiller) Bremer in Wausau. He is a 1970 graduate of Newman High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served a tour in Viet Nam during the war. After his discharge, Charlie began working for Kraft Foods and stayed with them for over 38 years in Processing and Production until his death.
Charlie had a great love for his four furry kids, his beloved German Shepards; Luther, Sinja, Panzer and Opal. He was a member of Whitetails Unlimited and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. A man with a great love of the outdoors, Charlie was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to spend time in his garden. He also enjoyed collecting guns and going to gun shows. What many people did not know was that he was a fantastic cook, having taken a cooking class while in high school, and made many gourmet meals for friends and family.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Samantha "Sam" Bremer, Los Angeles, CA; parents, Robert and Gertrude Bremer, Rib Mountain; brother, Bruce Bremer (Cindy Totzke), Kronenwetter; nephew, Brian (Becky) Bremer and daughter, Bryn, Wausau and niece, Jennifer (Jon) Ciatti, Minneapolis, MN. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl and Nellie Bremer.
Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Father Gerald Pehler OFM Cap will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM and last until the time of services at the funeral home on Thursday. You may sign our family guestbook at www.helke.com.
