Clara Hackbart

Clara F. Hackbart, 93, of Sugar Land, Texas, formerly of Wausau, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Emiritus Senior Living. She was born to the late Walter and Louise (Bartlet) Laatsch in Wausau on April 1, 1918. Clara married Myron D. Hackbart in Columbus, Georgia on November 18, 1940. She was a longtime and devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Clara was a homemaker, and her talent in sewing, baking, canning, and cooking was noticed and appreciated by her family. She was an avid and creative gardener and enjoyed traveling. Most of all Clara loved spending time with her family. Clara enjoyed email and would send messages almost daily.
Clara is survived by her children, Sandra Cotton of Scottsdale, AZ, Barbara (Arden) Baumgardt of Wausau, Patricia Muehl of Waukesha, Michael (Linda) Hackbart of Missouri City, TX, and Joel (Hilary) Hackbart of Salem, NH; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Peters of Waukesha, and Betty Ellerman of Sun Prairie; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron; parents; brother, Ralph Laatsch; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place at 12 noon on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau, with the Rev. Gary Schultz officiating. Friends and family may call beginning at 10:00 am until the time of service at the church. Private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
