Cyrus Rusch

Cyrus Otto Rusch, 83, Wausau, died Friday, February 24th 2012, at Mount View Nursing Home, Wausau.

Cy was born March 9th 1928, the son of the late Norman and Loma (Strei) Rusch, in Wausau. On September 17th 1949, he was united in marriage to Lenore Pruss, at St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Hamburg. Together they shared 62 years of marriage, raising their family and enjoying all life had to offer. Cy, together with his brother Leroy, ran Rusch Trucking, a milk hauling company servicing local farmers. He also ran a ginseng farm with his family.

Most important to Cy and Lenore was watching their grandchildren participate in their high school activities. He enjoyed keeping up on any type of sport and in his younger years, played basketball and coached his children's little league teams. Cy was a proud family man and always enjoyed spending time with those he loved.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lenore; 4 children, Connie (Robert) Kamke, Robin Rusch, all of Wausau, Candace (Steven) Brandenburg, Abbotsford, and Scott (Lori) Rusch, Schofield; 7 grandchildren, Becky Kamke, Brian (Anne) Kamke, Lisa Kamke, Matthew Brandenburg, Brooke Brandenburg, Kimberly Rusch, and Allison Rusch, 3 great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Elaina, and Kendall Kamke; 2 brothers, Leroy (Lorraine) Rusch, Wausau and Gary (Joan) Rusch, Minneapolis; sister, Jean (Don) Wisnewski, Edgar; and a sister-in-law, Jane Rusch.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas Rusch and Bonnie Rusch.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 28th, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend Joel Brandt will officiate. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Family will receive guests from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, February 27th at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau; and again Tuesday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
