David Wolf

David Andrew Wolf, 65, Schofield, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at his home.

David was born August 23, 1950 in Libertyville, Illinois to the late Edwin Sr. and Edith (Spitz) Wolf. He grew up in Antigo, then the family moved to Wausau and he graduated from Wausau East High School in 1970. David married his childhood sweetheart, Cheryl Lynn Brandenburg, in Wausau on June 7, 1975. He worked hard to provide for his family primarily as a welder over the years for different companies in the area including J.I. Case, Marathon Electric, and JARP Industries.

David was quiet yet stubborn like his Wolf brothers. He took solace in spending time outdoors camping and fishing with the family as well as hunting with his son and nephews. David had many hobbies including: rendezvousing, golfing, and target shooting competitions. He had a passion for 1/4 scale R/C planes; building them from scratch and flying them. He made many friendships training new R/C operators and attending fly-ins throughout central WI. David was also a very good woodworker, building many cherished gifts for family and friends over the years.

David is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cheryl; children, Jason (Kristy) Wolf of Wausau, Jennifer (Shawn) Tellekson of Merrill and Jessica (Josh) Belant of Merrill; grandchildren, Emily, Hailey, Landon, Chloe and Caelyn; siblings, Chris Slater of Lyndon Station, Ron (Sue) Wolf of Wausau, Barb (Jim) Blodgett of Waterford, Ed (Terri) Wolf of Wausau, Mary (Bob) Davidson of Union Grove and Mike (Renae) Wolf of Union Grove; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Bob Schneider will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Town of Texas.
