Delbert “Pete” Peterson, 82, of Weston, died Friday February 27, 2009 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
Pete was born April 19, 1926 in Wausau to the late Delbert L. and Minnie (Muelver) Peterson. Pete married Doris Doering Witter on August 25, 1973 in Wausau. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a purchasing agent at Hoffer Glass in Wausau for 42 years and retired in 1988. Pete was a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10 and a member of the AARP. He loved fishing , golfing (and had a hole in one), gardening, woodworking, biking, reading, building ship models, loved airplanes and even took flying lessons.
Pete rooted for the Packers, Brewers, and the Badgers, but also had a soft spot for the Cubs.
Survivors include his wife Doris of Weston, three step sons; Stephen (Judy) Witter of Mosinee, Michael (Diane) Witter of Schofield and Jeffery (Lisa) Witter of Weston, six step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, one sister Elizabeth “Betty” (Frank) Brehmer of El Paso, Tx., and two nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
