Delmar D. Haling, 65, of Wausau, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Colonial Manor. He was born in Wausau on April 1, 1953. Son of Larry and Helen (Bramm) Haling. After high school, he was employed at American Motors/Chrysler and then at Pine Tree Amoco in Kenosha as a mechanic. After retirement, Delmar moved to Wausau, where he made a lot of friends and for the past 20 years could be found slinging drinks and sharing stories at Chatterbox, Cheers and 101 Pub.
As any good Wisconsinite should be; Delmar was an avid Packer, Brewer and Badger fan. Delmar enjoyed watching NASCAR and going to Rib Mountain Speedway to watch the races. He also loved to listen to, watch and play baseball. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours on the lakes waiting for the next big catch or out in the woods waiting for his next trophy buck. Delmar was the proud father of Jason; grandpa to Alexis, Neena and Aryana; brother to Karen Shiffer and Rose (Todd) Shwaiko; and uncle to Michael (Barb) Haling, Patrick (Sophia) Mueller, and Joyce (Dan) Bella. Delmar is also survived by many cousins and special friends. Delmar had a contagious laugh and a personality you couldn’t help but love and he will be truly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Delmar was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Joshua Maginn.
A Celebration of Life Benefit will be held from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Monday, July 16, 2018, at 101 Pub, 101 N. 3rd Ave, Wausau. Memorials may be directed to Helke Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses. You may sign the family guestbook at Helke.com.
