Delores A. Geurink, 86, went to be with her Savior on Thursday, February 20, 2014, under the care of NCHC – Lake View Heights and Aspirus Hospice.
She was born March 16, 1927, daughter of the late Robert and Ella (Henkelman) Kurth, in the town of Hewitt. Delores was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church, town of Easton. On March 20, 1948, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Geurink, at Zion Lutheran Church, town of Easton.
Delores was a homemaker, who enjoyed raising her children; then worked at Prange's Department Store for 19 years. Delores and Lloyd joined New Hope Community Church after their marriage and are still members today. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Wausau.
Delores's family will always remember her beautiful flower gardens, how much she enjoyed gathering with family, and the cookies she made that fit perfectly in a Pringle's can. After retiring, Delores and Lloyd enjoyed many car trips across the country, especially those out west. Her talents and hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing, and quilting.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Lloyd; two daughters, Deborah (Jerry) Buttke, Minocqua and Sandy (Mike) Ollhoff, Poynette; six grandchildren, Gwen (Kevin) McGannon and daughter, Orla, Alisha Buttke, Craig (Katie) Buttke and children, Marshall, Kala, Oskar, and Colton, Kyle Ollhoff, Branden (Heidi) Ollhoff and son, Mason, and Jocelyn (fiancé, Jason Schmidtke) Ollhoff and children, Jacob and Brooke; two siblings, Selma Sokie and Adolph (Jean) Kurth; sister-in-law, Laverne Hettinga; two brothers-in-law, Herbert Beyer and Glen (Leah) Geurink; many nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
Along with her parents, Delores was preceded in death by six sisters, Irma Kittle, Angela Reniff, Elnora Wisnewski, Diana Beyer, Gertrude Novitzke, and Ella Doering.
A funeral service will be held at Noon, Monday, February 24th, at New Hope Community Church, town of Easton; with Reverend Dan Eisnor officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Forestville Cemetery, town of Easton. Family will receive guests on Monday, at church, from 10 a.m. until the service.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at NCHC – Lake View Heights for the outstanding care and empathy provided to Delores (Grandma).
