Dennis Pempek, 74, of Wausau, died at home surrounded by his family under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Tuesday May 27, 2008.
Dennis was born June 13, 1933 in the town of Bern to the late Emil and Helen (Kulas) Pempek. Dennis was married to Joyce Fellbaum and they shared 55 years of marriage. Dennis was a Color Technician for Wausau Paper Mills in Brokaw for 43 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hobby farming, fireworks, making maple syrup and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Joyce of Wausau, five children; Marggie Pempek of Wausau, Linda (Scott) Doescher of Weston, Dan (Michelle) Pempek of Athens, Scott Pempek of Wausau, and Kalynn Pempek (Lynn Goldade) of Wausau, nine grandchildren; Teresa Judd, Heather Doescher, Eric Doescher, Ben Pempek, Casey Pempek, Luke Doescher, Mitchell Pempek, Morgan Pempek and Ashleigh Pempek, 4 great grandchildren; River Judd, Kaleb Judd, Caitlin Judd and Autumn Judd, one brother Jerome Pempek of Fort Atkinson, two sisters; Vivian (Earl) Haefs and Emilie (Keith) Reimer both of Wisconsin Rapids, one sister-in-law Illa (Lawrence) Heibl of Athens, and many friends and relatives.
Dennis was preceded in death by one son Kenneth Pempek, one great grandchild Jaxon Pempek and one brother Raymond Pempek.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday May 30, 2008 at The First English Lutheran Church, Wausau. Officiating will be the Reverend Jay Kamrath. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
