Dennis A. Schneck, 85, Wausau, died November 4, 2015 peacefully at his home with his loving wife, Judith, by his side.
Dennis was born May 14, 1930 in Wausau to the late Arthur and Lauretta (Treichel) Schneck. He joined the US Air Force on December 28, 1950 and honorably served during the Korean War two years stateside and two years in England in Logistics until being discharged November 24, 1954. Dennis worked as a building and electrical contractor, owning his own business D.A. Schneck Building and Electrical for 54 years.
Dennis's greatest passion in life was fishing. He was an avid trout fisherman and also enjoyed going to Lake Somo for crappies. Dennis shared his passion with Tracy, teaching her how to fish and occasionally letting her skip school for a day of fishing with Dad. Dennis was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his uncanny ability to "embroider" the truth. In his earlier years, Dennis was the lead singer in the band The Troubadours. He was also a very good cook and excellent baker, especially his coffee cake.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Judith; daughter, Tracy (John) Springer of Kronenwetter; daughter-in-law, Monica Schneck of Fairlawn, OH; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Duane Schneck of Brainerd, MN, Darlene (Ron) Knapstein of New London, Kenneth O'Malley of King and Nancy Pregont of Watertown; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Russell Schneck; sister, Lorna; and infant sisters, Joan and Delaine.
