Dennis Sippl, 78, of the Town of Rib Mountain died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born June 28, 1936 in Wausau to the late Lawrence and Eva (Perry) Sippl. On December 14, 1963, Dennis married Karen Rahlf at St. Robert's Catholic Church, Merrill. Dennis was an interesting man with several different careers. As a young man he began working for Sippl Brothers Dept. Store. In 1964, Dennis became a deputy for the Marathon County Sheriff's Department and later constable for the Town of Rib Mountain. While working as a journeyman electrician for IBEW Local 388, Dennis started his own business, Budget Electric. Dennis and Karen later became owners of the Marlene Motel located on Stewart Ave. until they retired. His many hobbies included keeping up with latest in computer technology, scuba diving, boating and water skiing during summers in Minocqua. He was an avid photographer who always carried a camera and proud to be a licensed amateur radio operator.
Survivors include his wife, Karen of Rib Mountain, his daughter, Kelly (Alan) McCarthy of Rock Hill, SC and their daughters, Christina and Elizabeth and three sisters, Susan (Gerald) McClean of Pinehurst, TX, Doreen (Bruce) Bashore of Wausau and Jayne (Ed) Cronin of Conroe, TX.
Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau. Visitation will be Monday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
