Don Gardner

Donald Gardner, 64, of Mosinee, died Monday April 21, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.



Don was born January 3, 1944 in Aniwa to Roy and Mary (Umland) Gardner. He married Eunice Schmidt on December 23, 1972 in Rothschild. Don served his country in the United States Army from 1962 until 1968. He worked for LB Trucking for over 30 years as Maintenance Manager. In more recent years, he owned and operated his own business, D & R Services. Don enjoyed going to the casino along with his daily scratch tickets, going up North camping, feeding and watching the birds, especially the wrens. He was a big NASCAR and Green Bay Packers fan, but truly spending time with his family was most important.



Don is survived by his wife Eunice of Mosinee, one daughter Tammy Gardner of Weston, one son Patrick (Laurie) Washburn of Mosinee, his mother Mary Gardner of Birnamwood, three sisters Carol Stadler of Aniwa, Gloria Gardner of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Shirley (Kenneth) Markgraf of Aniwa, and four brothers Gary (Emily) Gardner of Birnamwood, Alan (Robin) Gardner of Aniwa, Jack Gardner of Aniwa and Neil Gardner of Aniwa. Don was preceded in death by his father Roy.



Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday April 24, 2008 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Rib Mountain. The Reverend John Roseth will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Helke Funeral Home, Wausau assisted the family with arrangements.
