Donald Bruce Coulter, 84, of Wausau, passed away Thursday, December, 31, 2015, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Don was born March 18, 1931, in Chicago, IL, son of the late Albert C. and Gene (Brown) Coulter.
He received his education in Lake Bluff/Lake Forest, attended Kenyon College and received his degree from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL. After serving in the United States Army, Don attended the University of Wisconsin, School of Law and received his law degree in 1959.
On January 7, 1956 he was united in marriage to Constance Adams in the Catholic chapel at Fort Benning, GA. In 1960 they moved to Wausau where Don established his private practice and also served as the Marathon County Family Court Commissioner for many years.
Don enjoyed volunteering as a ski patroller at Rib Mountain Ski Hill and as a docent at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Center for Visual Arts.
Don enjoyed the Great Lakes and spending time at his cabin on Lake Superior in Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Constance, of 59 years, three children, Nancy (John) Challenger of Winnetka, IL, Andrew Coulter (Amy Russian) of Jackson Hole, WY and Susan (Mark) Mowers of Fox Point, WI as well as nine grandchildren: Andrew, John, Edward, Claire and Eleanor Challenger; Beryl and Robert Coulter; and Elizabeth and Amelia Mowers.
Memorial services 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January, 5, 2016 at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St. Wausau with Father Robert Thorn officiating. Friends may call from noon until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
