Donald R. Erdman, 78, Wausau, died Friday, November 17, at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston.
Donald was born November 19, 1938 in Wausau to the late Raymond and Laura (Hans) Erdman. Following his graduation from Wausau East High School, he faithfully served his country in the US Army. Donald married the love of his life, Sally, on March 9, 1963 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church. He served the community as a Deputy with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department for over 20 years, retiring as a Sergeant. Donald also worked as a security guard for the Wausau Center Mall and Eastbay before completely retiring. Donald sadly said goodbye to Sally after 38 years of marriage in 2001 when she passed away.
Donald was a good family man and enjoyed raising his children. Summers were often spent traveling and camping as a family. He loved spending time outdoors; fishing, hunting and ice fishing. As long as Donald was able, he was very active at his home church of St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
Donald is survived by his children, Kathy (Tim) Rochester and Randy Erdman; grandson, Hunter Rochester; sister, Eunice (Calvin) Chamberlain and extended family and friends.
