Donald Treu

Donald L. Treu, 86, of Wausau died on September 13, 2015 at St. Clare's Hospital in Weston.
He was born in Wausau in 1928, son of the late Alfred and Norma (Hoffman) Treu. He loved singing and met his wife Elaine Kemps while singing with the Employers Mutual choir, Don and Elaine were married on May 20, 1950. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year.
Upon leaving Employers Mutual, he went to work at James River until he retired.
The most important thing in his life was spending time with his family. His faith in God was evident by the kindness and care he showed his family and others.
He became a Scout Master when his son was old enough and took his troop to Camp Tesomas in the summer. Camping was enjoyed with his children and continued with his grandchildren. Other interests included teaching Sunday School, singing in the church choir, golfing, fishing, fishing trips to Canada with his son, traveling and watching many events his grandchildren were involved in.
Don is survived his wife Elaine, a son, Timothy (Kay) Treu, Wausau, WI, three daughters, Linda (Larry) Worden, Mosinee, WI, Debra Leiser, Birchwood, WI., Rebecca (James) Grieser, Northfield, MN, ten grandchildren, Christina Treu and Mark Hudnall, River Falls, WI, Melissa (Mike) Tercha, Oshkosh, WI, Luke Worden, Wausau, WI, Lindsey Worden, Homer Glen, IL, Jonathan Leiser, San Jose, CA, Rachel Leiser, Rice Lake, WI, Jennifer (Lloyd) Watson, Farmington, MN, Joshua (Brittney) Grieser, Jackson, WI, Matthew Grieser, Northfield, MN, Emily Grieser, Northfield, MN; six great grandchildren, Haiden, Abigail, Samuel, Cooper, Max and Calvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Dorothy Blaubach.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 600 Stevens Dr, Wausau with Rev. Ken Albers officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Family will receive guests on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
