Doris Baumann, 76, Wausau, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Doris Baumann was born October 18, 1931 in the Town of Wausau to the late Oscar and Dora (Tress) Krueger. Doris met Harold Baumann at a dance and the two were later married on February 5, 1949 in the Town of Wausau. Doris and Harold celebrated fifty-nine loving years together prior to her death.
Throughout her life, Doris took care of her family. She was the consummate homemaker. She excelled at sewing and cooking, often making wonderfully homemade meals for her family. Doris was a very loving mother and later in life a devoted grandmother. In her later years, she learned how to use the computer and enjoyed passing the time surfing the internet, downloading music and e-mailing friends and family.
Doris is survived by her husband, Harold Baumann of Wausau; son, Gary (Judith) Baumann of Rib Mountain; two grandchildren, Jason and Jamie; sisters, Lucille Breggman and Florence Radtke; and half-sister, Loretta (Franklin) Radke. She is preceded in death by her son, Dennis Lee, and five brothers.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend Bruce Lamont will be officiating. Visitation will begin 9:30 AM Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau and last until the time of services.
