Doris Krueger

Doris Krueger, 91, of Wausau passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at Benedictine Living Center.

She was born June 24, 1922 in Wausau to the late William and Anna (Janke) Pruss. On October 3, 1942, she married Ervin Voelker at St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Hamburg. They farmed in the town of Maine until Ervin passed away on June 12, 1970. In 1972, Doris married Elroy Krueger at St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Maine. They enjoyed Polka dancing and going on Polka trips as well as fishing up north. Elroy later preceded her in death. Doris's past times included knitting, crocheting, bowling and playing cards, especially, Sheepshead and "500".

Survivors include two children, Darlene (Ron) Bahr of the town of Stettin, Donald (Nancy) Voelker of the town of Maine, six grandchildren, Gene (Lane) Bahr, Nancy (Simon) Beardsley, John (Carla) Bahr, Sherri (Brian) Buechner, David (Rebecca) Voelker, Stacie (Eric) Monarski, thirteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, one sister, Lenore Rusch of Wausau, three brothers, Wilbert (Jeanette) Pruss, Harold (Audrey) Pruss, and Dale (Audrey) Pruss all of Wisconsin Rapids and a sister-in-law, Barbara Pruss of Oregon. Doris was preceded in death by her two husbands, Ervin and Elroy, two brothers, Earl and Vernon, two sisters, Mildred Utech and Valeria Harder and a brother-in-law, Cyrus Rusch.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 5304 N. 44th Ave., Wausau. Reverend Dan Sire will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
