Born in St. Louis, Mo June 7, 1937 to Wren Osborn Guthrie and Jennie Bernice (Harding) Guthrie, Doris passed away Thursday May 25, 2017. She married Robert Allen Love, Sr. In Waukesha, WI on Oct. 29, 1955.
Doris lived with her son Robert, Steve, and grandson Jaden. She loved fishing with her family in her younger years as well as having family come for the holidays so she could cook and entertain. She loved to play poker after the holiday meals or any other time family could gather at her home. She loved to sew. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and especially loved Cardinals. She was Baptized as a Baptist and although she had not gone to church for many years, she never lost her faith in the Lord. She was a woman of many talents and had various jobs over the years. Her last employment was at McDonalds as a cashier and so loved her job. She will be sorely missed by those of us who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 2005, a son Jeffrey Scott in 1997, and a daughter Jacqueline Theresa in 1973, sisters Betty Jane Wickerham and Ivy Louise Juarez, step mother Charlotte E. (Rose) Guthrie, 2 step sisters Liz Scribner of Sheboygan and Rosalie Hermann of Kirkwood, Mo.
Surviving are 3 sons, Robert A. Love, Jr. of Wausau, Bradley (Barb) Love of Weston, Michael Anthony Love of Tennessee, 2 daughters Charlotte Jean (Tony) Watts of Merrill, Robbin Kipp of Milwaukee, long time family friend who her and her husband considered as another son Stephen Loftus, also surviving are 1 sister Dolores Ward of Wauwatosa, WI, 2 step brothers, John (Darlene) Guthrie of AZ and Donald (Laurie) Guthrie of Sheboygan, WI and 2 step sisters Mary Schultz of AZ and Jennifer Guthrie of Sheboygan. Also many grandchildren and great grand children, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church Chapel, 903 3rd Street, Wausua, Rev. Jerry Morris will officiate. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. A Joint burial for Doris and Robert Sr. will follow at the Big Hill Cemetery, Town of Berlin.
