Dorothy Kaatz

Dorothy R. Kaatz, 89, died January 11, 2009 at Continental Manor Nursing Home, Abbotsford.

Dorothy was born November 6, 1919 , in the Town of Wein , (Edgar) to the late Emil and Helena (Grosskreutz) Baesemann. She married Leonard Kaatz on Sept. 21, 1938 , in Wausau .

She farmed in the town of Wein with her husband and later moved to Wausau in 1960. She was a member of AARP, Chapter 272 Wausau.

Survivors include one son, Allan (RaeJean) Kaatz of Dorchester; five grandchildren, Jayne (Robert) Ropella, Jody (James) Verbeke, Krista (Keith) Waters, all of Minnesota, Jeffery (Barbara) Kaatz of Manawa and Jamie (Jenny) Kaatz of Dorchester; eleven great-grandchildren, Amanda and Justin Ropella, Bradley and Felicia Kaatz, LeRoy, Sam and Rosanna Lehman, Samantha and Lindsey Verbeke, Rachel and Aaron Kaatz; two great great grandchildren, Cael and Ashton Lehman; five sisters, Elmira (Wilford) Hill, Elk Grove, CA, Mildred Schoenrock, Abbotsford, Naomi Williams, Millington MI, Bernice (Allan) Hoyum, Wausau and Grace (Floyd) Braund, Horicon.

Preceding her in death were her husband Leonard; one daughter, Eleanor; and two great-grandsons, Joshua and Bryant Verbeke.
