Dorothy Krueger

Dorothy Marie Krueger was born September 7, 1913, in Wausau, WI, the daughter of the late Carl and Anna (Schmidt) Reinicke. On September 16, 1935, she was united in marriage to Jeff Krueger and together they shared 51 years of marriage, before his death in 1986.


Mom carried herself with dignity, grace, and beauty all of her days. She was generous, kind, and compassionate. God blessed us with the very best. She cried when she was born and her family rejoiced. She rejoiced when she died and her family cried.


Dorothy M. Krueger, 96, Schofield, went to her eternal home, Tuesday, May 11, 2010, encircled in the arms of her granddaughter, under the care of hospice, at Aspirus Hospital, Wausau.


She is survived by her loving family, including her daughters, Bonnie Achterberg, Schofield, and Patricia (Grover) Kinlaw, Mosinee; granddaughter, Kristine (Scott) Zasada, Plover; 3 great-grandsons, Andrew, Jacob, and Luke; sister-in-law, Ruth Reinicke, Wausau; and special friends, Ruth Laak, and Howie and Nancy Pries.


Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Wilbert and Leroy.


The family wishes to extend a special “thank you” to Dr. Rick Reding and Jane Dolan, N.P. for their care and support; and to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, who showed Mom such kindness and respect.


A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Peace United Church of Christ, Schofield. The Reverend Vernon Dolde will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park. Family will receive guests the day of the service, at the church, beginning at 9:30 a.m., until the time of the service.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Peace UCC Memorial Fund.
